My Story
I am a classically trained Chef who graduated from The International Culinary Institute at the Art Institute of Salt Lake. I have had a love for food since I was a young child, constantly finding joy in experimenting with ingredients and flavors. My passion for cooking was further ignited when, between five and six years old, I had a vivid dream about making a warm and comforting egg salad sandwich. It was a dream that stayed with me, shaping my culinary journey and becoming a family favorite over the years.
As I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California, I had the privilege of being surrounded by farmers' markets and diverse culinary influences. When I wasn't honing my skills in the kitchen, I was outside exploring nature or engaging in sports, soaking in the adventurous and competitive spirit that now permeates my cooking. Always hungry for new knowledge and techniques, I am constantly searching for unique ingredients and innovative ways to elevate the quality and taste of my dishes.
While attending Utah State University, destiny played its role as I found myself cooking for friends and fraternity events. It was during these moments that I realized I couldn't wait until retirement to fully pursue my passion for cooking. With this newfound clarity, I bid farewell to Utah State University and enrolled in The International Culinary Institute at the Art Institute of Salt Lake, where I completed my Bachelors of Science in Culinary Management as well as my Associates in Culinary Arts.
Since then, I have relentlessly climbed the ranks in the culinary world, starting as a line cook and eventually reaching the prestigious position of Executive Chef. However, my sense of adventure remains unparalleled. As a family, we take every opportunity to travel and explore the world, opening up a wealth of inspiration for my creations. Every new destination introduces me to diverse ingredients, flavors, and cooking techniques that fuel my creative fire.
Now, standing at this exhilarating crossroad, I am grateful for the chance to share my culinary journey. Every dish I create and every business endeavor I embark upon is a testament to my unwavering passion for food. But amidst the hustle and bustle, I never forget my most important role in life — being a dedicated father. Balancing my love for food with my responsibilities as a parent has been a rewarding challenge, reminding me to appreciate the beauty that lies in both the kitchen and the world beyond.
On this platform, I want to share my experiences as a dad, a cook, a business owner, a traveler, a creative, and just a regular person.
This is my story, my journey, my victories, and my failures. While others may play a part, I will keep the focus on my own experiences and not those who will accompany me, particularly my children.
I want to motivate others in their own lives. I want people to learn and develop by hearing, seeing, and reading about my experiences.
I see this as an opportunity for personal growth, where I can challenge myself to experience new things in various aspects of life - from trying different foods and exploring various art forms to pushing my limits and discovering new adventures.
