Chipotle Pumpkin Spice Candied Bacon
INGREDIENTS
8 Slices Thick Cut Bacon
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar, Packed
1/2 tsp Chipotle Powder
1/2 tsp Pumpkin Spice Seasoning
1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
NEXT LEVEL TIP:
Chipotle can be a bit difficult to find in some stores, so look for Ancho Chili Powder for as substitute, and if your are nervous about the heat, you can use Dark Chili Powder for great flavor and less heat!
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Line a sheet pan with foil and place a cooking rack atop of the aluminum foil (like picture above). If you do not have a roasting rack, use parchment paper instead of foil and cook directly on parchment paper.
In a medium size bowl combine Brown Sugar, Chipotle, and Pumpkin Spice and mix together.
Lightly toss Bacon strips in Sugar Mixture until evenly coated, shake any excess Sugar Mixture off and back into bowl.
Place Bacon in roasting rack on sheet tray in a single layer, I’d they are touching sides it’s ok, try to have no over lapping.
Once all the Bacon has been coated in the Sugar Mixture and placed on sheet tray, add Apple Cider Vinegar to remaining sugar in bowl.
Stir to combine making a glaze.
Lightly brush glaze over each piece of bacon until glaze is gone.
Place sheet in oven and cook for 30 minutes.
Check for doneness, the bacon won’t be crispy yet but it will crisp up as it sits, if the Bacon is not golden brown continue to cook for an addition 10-15 minutes.
Remove from oven and let sit about 2-3 minutes to cool slightly and enjoy!
NEXT LEVEL TIP:
Looking for a fall treat but want to keep it low carb and keto friendly? Use Monk Fruit instead of brown sugar for the same great taste without the carbs!
